Five Year Review Update

These reviews are starting to get boring. Nothing to report from this past year. It continues to run flawlessly every day for two 1 hour filter cycles plus 1 or 2 times for another hour while being used each week.

Would recommend to anyone wanting a good spa without paying too much.

Four Year Review Update

The only issue we have had is one of the 3 inch speakers stopped working. I bought replacements from Amazon. Herdio 3″ Inch Waterproof Marine Speakers unfortunately one of the replacements has also gone bad.

Speakers

Just finished my spring drain and clean routine. New filter and fresh water should be good to go for another season.

This Spa has definitely been a good value with many many hours of trouble free enjoyment.

Three Year Review Update

Another year has passed already and we are still experiencing a great time with our Dr Wellness Spa. It has worked perfect since it’s startup over 3 years ago. It still runs every day for one hr in the morning and another hour in the afternoon on the filter and heat cycles. We use it about two to three times every week so I set the temp to 100* and never touch it again. This thing has not had any issues at all. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 11.

Hope this REAL USER Review helps you, Good Luck and may God Bless You.

Two Year Review Update

After two years of service I thought it would be a good time to give an honest and critical review of our Dr. Wellness  G-60-3 Tranquility Series Spa.

In the 1st picture you can see the steps I made from precut stringers from Home Depot. They are three feet wide and makes the geten in and geten out a breeze.

In picture #2 you can see the foam caused by the flush chemical during a system flush. I ran it for approx. 3 hrs with all jets and pumps wide open and on high speed. As picture #3 shows the product I used was StaKlear System Flush. It must have done some good cauz there was dark colored gunk around the edges after. After about a two-hour drain time I prepared a bucket of water with two cups vinegar to wipe down the shell all the while rinsing with fresh water.

Picture #3 is the empty spa after cleaning. Picture #5 and #6 show some marks on the acrylic surface. They look like scuff marks just above the water line in two spots. I have no idea what caused them but there they are. In picture #7 on the right arm rest area of the lounge there are two small bumps that may have been there on day one but not sure. Picture #8 shows the product I used to polish the shell.  It’s called Gel-Gloss and works awesome. Very little needed to get the smoothest surface you ever felt.

Time to refill with Texas Hill Country well water. Pictures 9 and 10 show how pure and clear our well water is. As you can see in picture #11,  I will be trying the Nature2 Spa Mineral Sanitizer System during this fill.

I gave the cover a good cleaning with dish soap and two coats of Protect-All as shown in picture #12

I removed the service panel to give a visual inspection. The only thing that was apparent was the discoloration of the clear tubing as shown in pictures # 13 and #19. Probably caused by a combination of heat and chemicals. And no signs of any water leaks, thank goodness.

Pictures #14, #17 and #18 are the two 6HP pumps.

Pictures #15 and #16 are of the BALBOA system.

Conclusion: After two years of trouble free service I would have to give this  Dr Wellness  G-60-3 Tranquility Series Spa a 5 STAR ***** rating. A great value and it does what a spa should do. We Love it and would recommend it to anyone.

One Year Update

We have had the Spa for a year now and I thought it would be a good time for an update. Our normal usage has been about two times a week for just the wife and I. I have changed the water twice and both times with well water. I run the filter one hour in the morning 7am for an hour and another hour at 3pm. I have the water temp set for 100 deg’s and the heater has no problem maintaining even in the winter. I have been using Bromine one inch tabs in a floater with only about 2 tabs at a time. I changed the filter after the second water change and one year in service.

Thus far I would give this Spa an 5 Star rating, it has surpassed our expectations and has provided us with many hours of trouble free service.

First water change

Well after 4 months it was time to change the water. It was getting harder to keep it clear and balanced. It was an easy chore that took about 1 hr to drain, 1 hour to wipe down the interior with a sponge dipped with white vinegar and water solution, 1 cup vinegar to a pale of water and rinse with clear water. The first fill-up I used 100% well water that is about 630 ppm hardness. This time I filled half with soft-water then finished with well water. Total Hardness is about 510. I needed to add 4 oz’s of Muriatic Acid to balance the Ph.

After a shock treatment and time to heat back to 100* everything is back to GOOD.

Tethered Bromine Floater

I was having some trouble keeping the Bromine level from being too high. I tied a cord to the floater thru a hole in the cap and just hung it over the side of the spa. This simple solution keeps the floater away from the filter area during the filter cycle. The high water flow in this area caused excessive amounts of Bromine to be introduced into the spa water plus used a lot of Bromine.

Six Week Update

We have had the Spa for six weeks now and use it about four times a week. We have set in all the different seating locations and the lounge is a favorite for both of us. Normally we inter with only pump #1 on and set to low speed. After a few min I will turn pump #2 on and sit in the seat on the right side of the controls. The massage with jets wide open is a bit too much so I adjust down a notch or two. After 10 or 15 min I will turn off pump #2 and just enjoy the water movement from pump #1. The Wife likes the lounge with pump # 1 on low speed however she will run it on high for a few min’s. She also likes the water fall adjusted to about one foot out from the nozzle.
We enjoy the Bluetooth system to play our 50’s and 60’s oldies as well as classic country music. The sound is better than I would have guessed. I just use my phone and lay it on the patio table, choose the album and adjust the level and it’s that easy. Remember we are in our 70’s.
The LED parameter lighting rotates thru red, green, blue, and white or you can choose any one to stay on.
I have the filter set to start at 6am and run for just 1 hour. The water stays crystal clear and the Ph and Bromine levels are easy to maintain. Since we live in the Texas Hill Country and its summer the heater doesn’t have to work very hard to keep the water at 100* our preferred temperature.
Every few days I test the water with test strips and adjust as necessary, I also wipe down the spa surface from just below the water line up to and including the top and roll over acrylic. So far no problems with scum or scale. I also use a leaf net to remove any bugs, hair or other debris this keeps it out of the filter and helps keep filter cleaning periods longer.
Conclusion: We are very pleased and reassured that our purchase was a wise one and an excellent value. We would recommend this Spa to anyone looking for the most bang for your buck.

Jet Test

This Spa has two 6 HP motors, pump #1 is a two speed while pump #2 is one speed. All jets were turned all the way on and the lounge adjusted to allow max water flow to it from motor #1.  As you can see from the videos there is more than enough jet action.

Still water, no pumps running.
